Rushden & Diamonds are proud to announce the latest sportsman's dinner to take place at Nene Park will be: An Evening with Peter Shilton.

This meal is a great opportunity to chat with Shilton and hear his memories of a long and successful football career. The Goalkeeper started his career with Leicester City, moving to Stoke City, Nottingham Forest, Southampton and Derby County. Shilton managed to play more than 100 games for each of those 5 teams, with more than 200 games at Leicester and Nottingham Forest.

Shilton spent much of the early 1970's as England's number 2 goalkeeper, becoming an ever present in goal for England following the retirement of Gordon Banks after a car accident. He then went on to make 125 appearances for England, a record which still stands to this day.

With 125 England appearances, over 1000 Football League Appearances, 2 European Cup wins, and World Cup appearances with England, Shilton is sure to have plenty to talk about with fans over dinner.

The event is kindly sponsored by Nationwide Building Society, and takes place in the Kimberley Suite at Nene Park on Thursday 19th June 2008, with the bar opening at 7pm and the meal served at 8pm. Tickets cost £60 per person, or £550 for a table of ten. The dress code is formal (dark) suits.
