Australian Academy to visit Nene Park
A team of Australian Academy players will be visiting the FootballCV academy based at Nene Park to experience life at a full-time academy and play matches against a Rushden & Diamonds Under 16 development side and the FootballCV team.
Their visit to the UK will also include the chance to see Manchester United and Arsenal in action, and be coached by the Academy coaches Danny Nicholls and Gary Brown along with Rushden & Diamonds FC coaches.
The group, based in Sydney, will arrive on Friday 30th November 2007. They play a Rushden & Diamonds FC Under 16 Development side on Saturday 1st December and FCV Reds on Sunday 2nd December, leaving on Monday 3rd.
FCV Reds, the FootballCV academy team, followed up Wednesday's friendly 3-2 win over Dunstable with a third league victory on Friday. Goals from Alistair Wiltshire, Kieron Mahon, Paul Tocco and Michael Thompson sealed a 4-1 win over Hertswood College to leave the Reds fifth in the table.
Next week sees the visit of Birmingham City Academy at Nene Park to face the FCV Reds.
