Free midweek for Rushden & Diamonds
The Diamonds will have a free midweek next week, with the proposed Setanta Shield fixture against either Halifax Town or Burton Albion on Wednesday 19th March being rearranged to a later date. This is because the Halifax Town v Burton Albion Quarter-Final was called off on Thursday due to a waterlogged pitch at the Shay.
The Semi-Final fixture at Nene Park will probably be played the week after, although this is yet to be confirmed with Halifax Town / Burton Albion, Setanta Sports and The Football Conference.
The Blue Square Premier game against Torquay, initially scheduled for Tuesday 18th March had been moved back to Thursday 17th April 2008 to allow for the Setanta Shield Semi-Final, and the two sides have agreed it would be too short notice to move the fixture back to its original date.
Therefore the Diamonds will have no midweek fixture next week, with the fixture list now looking like:
