'The Press Player of The Season' Decided
Members of the local press, in particular Radio Diamonds, The Rushden & Diamonds Official Website, BBC Radio Northampton, The Evening Telegraph and those who work in the press box on a matchday have been voting for their top 3 players of the season.
Three points were awarded for those nominated as first place, two for second and one for third in order to work out the press player of the season for 2007/08.
The winner with 25 points was Andy Burgess, scooping up the award, with his impressive displays in midfield earning him nominations almost across the board.
Dean Howell takes second place, picking up 15 points overall.
Third place goes to Michael Rankine, picking up 8 points.
Andy Burgess will be presented with the award on the pitch at Saturday's final Blue Square Premier game of the season, Rushden & Diamonds v Aldershot Town.
The votes are currently being counted for the fans player of the season. This will be announced on Saturday at the Rushden & Diamonds v Aldershot fixture.
