Match Report: Rushden Asda v Rushden Waitrose
Match report by Jay Shears - Radio Diamonds Programme Controller
Well, this is my first attempt at doing a match report for a game, I should stick to being behind the mic (ha ha) but I gave it a go.
Rushden's Asda and Waitrose Supermarkets played this competition at Nene Park in aid of Macmillan Cancer Research, with Asda playing in blue and Waitrose playing in yellow.
Both teams started off playing very well with a very competitive first half with both teams proving to have extremely good defences, plenty of chances were had and both keepers did a fine job leaving it all square at 0-0.
The supermarkets stepped up a gear in the second half, with more chancesonce again all saved perfectly by both keepers. With the game level after 90 minutes the game moved to a penalty shootout, with Asda winning 4-3.
Around 100 people came to pitch two to watch the match, with all the money raised going to Macmillan Cancer Support
