Phil played a vital role in central defence throughout the 2004/05 and 2005/06 seasons, winning 'Player of the Season' in our relegation season from Coca Cola League 2. After being offered a contract for the 2006/07 season, Phil signed for Hereford United, despite a delay in signing after an agreement had to be reached due to a misunderstanding over compensation.
After failing to settle into a regular place at Hereford, despite winning 'Player of the Month' in December, Gulliver has been released from his contract allowing him to re-join Rushden & Diamonds initially on a one year contract.
The former Middlesbrough youth and reserve player never managed to break into the first team under Steve McClaren, taking loan spells at Blackpool, Carlisle, Bournemouth, Bury and Scunthorpe during his time at The Riverside.
Gulliver re-joined the Diamonds during pre-season 2007 and has featured in his familiar position of central defence throughout.
