Striker Michael Rankine signed a one-year contract at Nene Park after impressing former Manager, Paul Hart, during a three-week trial in June 2006. Rankine, who appeared in the pre-season friendly matches against Nottingham Forest and Reading, was signed from Alfreton Town. The Big centre forward causes trouble in the opposition's box, and was rewarded with a longer contract for his efforts.
