Spotted by one of the Diamonds scouts at a under-16 county trial in Lincoln, and in August 2004 signed a scholarship deal with the club. After a number of impressive performances for the youth team, he has been involved with the reserves on a number of occasions. Since the arrival of Graham Westley, Margarson has been promoted to second choice keeper and is a regular on the bench for the first team.
