Rushden & Diamonds FC, Northamptonshire Connexions and The Diamonds Study Centre Launch Coaching for Life Project
Rushden and Diamonds FC are pleased to announce the commencement of the "Coaching for Life" project, which is scheduled to begin later this month at Nene Park. The project is a new partnership between the Football Club, the Northamptonshire Connexions team and the Diamonds Study Centre and is aimed at unemployed 16 to 19 year olds from the local area.
Following a successful pilot project, based at the Northampton Sports Clubs, the scheme has been extended into East Northamptonshire and the young people are being offered a free ten week course. Each of the three hour sessions is designed to include an educational element based within the Study Centre followed by a football coaching session which will be run by the clubs coaching staff. In addition to the coaching of both football and life skills there will be an opportunity for the youngsters to improve numeracy, literacy and computer skills and to learn basic first aid.
The project runs from 1pm until 4pm on a Monday for ten weeks, starting Monday 26th November. For more information contact Paul White on 07793 307239
