Wednesday 6th December 2006 sees two important presentations at Rushden & Diamonds Football Club, as the Diamonds Study Centre celebrates the achievements of all the students who have undertaken the after school study support centre programme.

Over 120 children from schools at Rushden, Higham Ferrers, Raunds, Irthlingborough, Finedon and Great Addington will be presented with certificates and awards from Rushden & Diamonds first team players Marcus Kelly, Jon Ashton, Tyrone Berry and Glen Wilson after completing the 'Playing for Success' project.

The 'Playing for Success' (PfS) project at the Rushden & Diamonds study centre is part of a national initiative, which involves partnerships between the DfES (Department for Education and Skills), the County Councils and of course the Football Club itself.

The project aims to harness the potential of the sporting environment and to use sports related learning resources in order to engage and motivate young people from local schools and to improve their literacy, numeracy and ICT skills.

The Presentation Evening will take place in the Executive Suite of the North Stand at Nene Park. Students from Rushden and Higham Ferrers will be rewarded in the first set of presentation between 5:30 and 6:00pm, which will be followed by the schools from Raunds, Irthlingborough, Finedon and Great Addington between 6:30 and 7:00pm.
